The danger was concealed the pitfall was hidden.

Frankly, you did not see this coming.

But now, you’re inside a trap.

Your trap might not look at all like the picture above.

That picture practically screams,

“look at me, and do not come any closer, unless of course, you love pain”.

“Try to climb over my fence, and you’re going to suffer”.

Don’t you wish all traps had such a clear warning?

Me too.

Since they don’t, we shall move on to the next best affirmation.

You can get out of a trap.

Follow these instructions to disentangle yourself.

1. Tell Somebody you’re trapped.

2.  Ask for help to be released, then follow the directions.

3.  Once released never look back at the trap, keep moving forward.

4.  Avoid all future paths, even slightly similar, to the path where you were you once trapped.

5.  Help others to get out of their traps

6.  No matter how difficult the new path is, don’t go getting trapped again.  Each time you’re trapped. the likelihood of future escape greatly diminishes.

6.  Enjoy your freedom!

Romans 6:22
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Start thinking of yourself as a trust-fund baby.

At your birth,

you inherited

time.

True, we don’t know how much time, but it’s still quite a windfall when you think about it.

Start thinking of yourself as  representative your time.

How are you representing/selling yourself?

Don’t sell yourself short!

To make good sound trades

study the market.

Cautionary trading tales are everywhere.

You might even have  to cut your losses

in order to stop the bleeding.

Better to disentangle yourself from a bad investment

than to loose your shirt.

Other assets require nothing more than patience.

A simple concept, really

but it will require discipline.

Trade your time wisely and you get

richer

wiser

greater.

Right before my Grandpa Foster died,

he looked into my eyes and said,

“Sell High“.

those were his last words to me.

I think that’s pretty cool, and I try to take the advice especially when I realize how easy it is to sell myself short.

The best trade I ever made

was when I gave my short life to Jesus,

and received His gift of Eternal Life.

Now what I do with my temporal time

will have a lasting effect on eternity.

So no more selling short for me.

From here on out……..

 I’m selling High!

Psalm 39:4-5
“Show me, O LORD, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man’s life is but a breath.

When I was visiting the Golden Gate Bridge,

I just had to take a picture of this sign.

This was a sign I could relate to since I myself, had experienced my share of emergency counseling sessions.

But then when I looked for the pay phone

the phone was out of order.

How ironic.

That particular day, I was having a blast, and I didn’t need counseling, but

of all the pay phones in all the world, to be out of order, well you get the idea.

That was no place for the phone to be taped up with duck tape.

But it was and here is the proof…

Obviously whoever  put the big hole in the black plastic didn’t get too far.

What is a person supposed to do with all of their

 Anguish,

Torment,

Pain,

Suffering,

Grief?

Fortunately or unfortunately,

(there are two schools of thought on that)

I’ve had a lot of practice with  processing my least favorite emotions.

Because boy do I have them, and at times, I have had them a plenty.

You probably do too.

Eventually things get better,

But once you’ve had a good dose of Agony,

you come to realize,

Agony never quite goes away.

In other words, you become a carrier.

So when it flares, and puts me down

this is what I do,

I accept it.

I realize it’s here for a visit, and not leaving until I acknowledge it’s presence and pay my respects.

After all, it’s here to tell me something…

maybe it’s time for me to pay attention to my broken heart,

or maybe I need to acknowledge my helplessness to change present disastrous circumstances,

or maybe i have to stop trying to make wise choices for those I love so dearly,

or maybe it’s time to embrace the suffering

that comes with bearing my cross.

There is a price to pay for following my savior to the end.

I’ve finally realized whoever told me there would be suffering was not making it up.

As I’ve aged, and experienced more of what life brings to the human condition, I understand

more of why they called

Jesus, “the man of sorrows”.

After I remind myself agony plays a part in the drama of life,

I come to grips with this fact:

Although I’m responsible in my suffering,

I’m never alone in my suffering.

And neither are you.

So cry if you need to, for as long as you need to.

Don’t be afraid to feel the pain,

acknowledge your needs, and ask for what you need.

But in the morning

get on up and do your thing.

Because weeping may endure for the night,

but Joy pays a visit in the morning.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:4

Yep, it’s true.

Sometimes we’ve got a great big control in our hands,

yet we don’t quite  know exactly what to do with it.

Control makes things happen,

My precious grandson William knows all about this,

and he’s only one.

Yep,

even at this tender age,

we humans want to

make things happen.

Here’s a fabulous Affirmation.

You

possess an invisible remote control.

You can choose to let

 the Holy Spirit,

tune you into

The Divine Channel

and fill your minds and heart with:

Love

Joy

Peace

Gentleness

Goodness

Faith.

You’ve got the control, now use it wisely.

Some folks may look a little funny,

and sound funny too.

In other words they’re not quite like us.

So what’s a person to do?

My best suggestion, is to walk with them and listen.

You find wisdom in so many places.

She’s calling out in the streets,

she’s set her table,

she wants to share what she knows.

So what if the package isn’t just like you.

Try listening,

before you know it, you will be gifted,

Maybe at Walmart, maybe down the street, by a neighbor you don’t even know,

Maybe even at church from someone you’ve never spoken with.

Look for wisdom, and you will find it.

Proverbs 1:20

Wisdom calls out in the street, and she raises her voice in the public squares.

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise

When are they going to learn?

Why would they do such a stupid thing?

Don’t they realize how crazy they look?

The above statements all regard the pace of people who we deem to be in the slow group.

But we must remember that the same way we judge others….

we will also be judged.

So here are some new ways to look at Pace….

Thank God we can all choose to keep learning.

Anyone can land in a situation where sharp wit and ordinary keenness of mind is nonexistent.

Many people who’ve changed the world were initially called crazy.

When we change from negative to positive,

the way we view others

we also change the way we judge ourselves.

So be Gentle,

the only pace you can control, is your own….

and that is only sometimes.

Ephesians 4:2

“Always be humble and gentle.

Be patient with each other,

making allowance for each other’s faults

because of your love.”

What do you really want?

Write it down.

Yes, all of it.

And don’t write anything down just because you think you’re supposed to want it, and don’t guilt trip yourself by thinking you should want something you don’t.

Then start thanking God you’re alive.  You’re life’s not over yet and you can do something positive with it if you decide to.

Now make another list of the things you already have that you don’t want.

Start getting rid of them.

You have to get rid of the “don’t wants”  to make room for the “wants”.

Crowd out the negative  responses in your mind, with positive affirmations.

You may need to get rid of something good, to get ready for something better.

Do this and do this and do this.

But get ready, because your life is gonna Change!

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

“No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him”

But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

When hiking through the mountain of life…

We’ve all gotten stuck a few times.

Stuck in the mud.

Stuck on a problem,

Stuck on the past.

It’s not pretty.

Take this picture for instance,

Barely did I escape staying mentally stuck

with the way it

“should’ve turned out”.

Instead, I put it through a few filters and it turned out pretty cool.

Embracing my personal power and

using the tools God provided

presented me with an enjoyable escape.

Take this same approach, and it’ll work for you.

You too, may need a few filters.

That’s allowed.

Romans 8:28 is probably my favorite.

Letting go of

How it should be

enables us to embrace God’s provisions right now

for how it

Is.

Lets hike on up the mountain of

Now,

and through the filter of faith,

enjoy the scenery.

Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the LORD will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”
